The big screens, the plastic-made dreams

October 23 was the final Family Day of my life as a Theresian. It turned out to be the most memorable day I ever had for this kind of event. Aside from considering this as my last performance in our annual dance production, it was the first time I didn’t go straight home after the dance. In fact, I spent the whole afternoon with  the Lucky 9. It was a great day. My money headed to Foodtown - Chicken McDo, penne pasta, Milo and lemonade. What could I decribe about this? Oh wow, yummy! Along with my friends, we strolled around the HS Department and had a lengthy chit-chat at the Prep area. I went home at around 6 PM with a smile glued on my face.

The next day was my DLSU-CET. A lot of people who took the test ahead of me commented that it was a combination of UPCAT/ACET/USTET and the most difficult exam they’ve ever taken. When I woke up that Sunday morning, a feeling of excitement and nervousness rose upon me. I felt excited because I’ll be entering the plush environment of De La Salle University. However, I was nervous because I didn’t want to experience mental block while taking the test. After four grueling hours, I survived the exam. Boy, it was more difficult than UPCAT but tolerable. Some of the Trigonometry items weren’t taught in class yet (sine pi, etc.).  But at least I got to answer a lot of the items that appeared in the exam.

Sembreak was boring because I did nothing but surf the Internet, download and watch movies. For this week alone, I downloaded The Little Rascals, Jeux d'Enfants, My Girl, The Chipmunk Adventure and Gross Anatomy. Just a little fact: I haven’t watched The Chipmunk Adventure and Gross Anatomy since I was five years old. Simply put, I last saw these fantastic movies thirteen years ago. Thanks to BitTorrent and The Pirate Bay, I was able to watch these films again. Now I feel like it’s 1999 all over.

  • Dear Darla, I hate your stinking guts. You make me vomit. You’re a scum between my toes. Love, Alfalfa.

Little Miss Theresian, Candice-fied

I haven’t posted a single artwork here for about four months already. Now it’s time for me to show my latest masterpiece - this time it’s different from the works I previously posted. This is the first time I colored my artwork using Adobe Photoshop CS3. It took me about 45 minutes to color the whole thing. If you’re going to use Photoshop for the coloring, then I advise you to be very patient because all the time will be worth it!

Today is the first birthday of my Tumblr site @teenagedragqueen! I’ll be making a post about it soon!

See those girls in campus who have a rockin’ social life, gorgeous looks, 100-ized grades and a hot jock boyfriend? Hell no, they ain’t perfect. You just don’t know their insecurities and problems.

This is what I do when I’m bored - Photobooth!Yeah, I love taking photos.

Sorry if I’m not the prettiest teenager on Earth.
Sorry if I’m not one of our STC Batch 2011’s 100 Prettiest Girls.
Sorry if I don’t get 18957573 notes when I post a picture of myself on Tumblr.
Sorry if I’ve been single since birth.
Sorry if I suck at conic sections and logarithms.
Sorry if I’m not filthy rich like Paris Hilton and Blair Waldorf.
Sorry if you think my nose resembles a pretty tomato.
Sorry if I want to be a billionaire so freakin’ bad as Bruno Mars says so.
Sorry if you think I’m pretty without any makeup on like Katy Perry.
Sorry if you think I’m ugly, I’m not awesome and I’m a loser.
Sorry if you think I should get a life.
Sorry if you think I’m dumber than a grain of rice.
Sorry if I never got drunk at a party.

With all of the sorry’s I made, one thing’s for sure: I’m not perfect.

I don’t care if you think I’m not good enough. There are a million people out there in the world who will open their hearts and minds in realizing who I am.

Run baby run

I could say that this week has been very great especially yesterday.

I didn’t really enjoy the OJE in GMA Network Center last Monday. Some of the people there were snobby to us. However, I learned a lot from the reporter who gave us a talk on broadcast journalism and the tour guide was very friendly to us. The light part of the day was the picture-taking with some TV personalities including a DJ from 97.1 WLS FM. I think I’m not the only one who didn’t savor the experience because some did, too. As for the girls who went to Mowell Fund, it’s a long and funny story especially with the Machete thing which made me hilarious!

Yesterday was bonding time with the Lucky 9 girls. In fact, we six girls have another group name - the Sweet Six Teens. Our kada anniversary as Lucky 9 is on August 28 while SST is on October 15, St. Teresa of Avila (our school patroness)’ feast day.  Kath, Gelz, Aly, Kharisse, Bev, Aly’s little sister and I went to KFC Banawe to have a merienda. We had a great hour photospamming using Aly’s digicam and planning for Family Day and sembreak. Man, I’m so excited for the days ahead.

We’re the brand new KFC endorsers! Too bad Bev didn’t endorse her crispy fries :(

Top: (L-R) Yours truly with the spoon and fork, Kath with the fries (?), Kharisse with the Krusher
Botton: (L-R) Aly with the Pepsi, Gelz with the chicken and java rice meal, Bev and her signature pose :))

I’ve signed up for Nuffnang last week and I’m glad CD reaches about 20 visitors or more daily. But the purpose of my registration in the site is to earn money from my online journal entries. I hope I can reach the P2000 minimum cashout anytime soon.

I labeled this entry from We The Kings’ smash hit because the IV-3 / IV-1 band Countdown performed it yesterday for their Bandfest auditions. They were so freakin’ amazing especially they made a remix of the song and Thunder by Boys Like Girls. The crowd went crazy for them and the judges had stars in their eyes! I am 100% sure they’ll make it to the February 4, 2011 event.

DLSU-CET on the 24th, the day AFTER Family Day. Three down, one to go. And I can wait patiently for the results.

Might like you better

This is a repost of my blog entry yesterday. I decided to remove the tag because I don’t think it was worth it. Plus, I think the facts I posted were too cheesy :P

Peace, Love, Faith
Photographer and Model: Yours Truly

I got the ballers through Facebook when I saw a tagged photo of me with the baller collection in it. There were four: Shut Up, I’m Saying It Nicely (white), Peace Love Faith (pink, the one I own), our school motto (blue) and Edward Loves Theresians (black). The next day, Dani asked me if I would want to order one of the ballers. I replied that I will get the pink one. On Friday, she brought the bulk order of all ballers and I got the pink one. It was worth the P95 with its flexible design and über-chic print.

I have love written on my arms. Yay!

This week marked the kickoff of ICM’s centennial celebration. As of this writing, it is 10/10/10! I think this day is historic because this date is once-in-a-lifetime and will never be in the calendars again. Last Wednesday was our torch ceremony. Although I didn’t like the environmental condition of the GS Lawn because the grass was wet and the sunlight was piercing our eyesight, it was a quintessential ceremony. The performers all did well including the members of the school’s maintenance personnel. The costumes were striking, the performers danced like gazelles and everything was well-prepared.

Friday was memorable. Have you felt the feeling of meeting a well-known person or someone who is in the family tree of an influential individual? I have. Our class visited the ICM exhibit held in the De Meester Residence. There was hella a lot of memorabilia in there - t-shirts, souvenir programs, old photos and AVPs commemorating the 100 years of ICM’s existence in the Philippines. I met a lot of nuns too. And while visiting the AVP room, I met someone I couldn’t believe I’ll ever have an opportunity to talk to.

It was Myriam De Meester, Mother Marie Louise De Meester’s (ICM Founder) great-grandniece.

I greeted her and she said so many words of wisdom to me. She shook hands with me and I was awed with her kindness and hospitality. All of a sudden, I felt the honor to have walked inside the AVP room and have this sparkling opportunity to shake hands with a family member of a person who changed the world. Wow! There were stars in my eyes. In my opinion, I’d rather meet someone like her than a celebrity who’s always in the tabloids.

On the same day, I found out my OJE (on the job exposure) venue for the communication arts group. I was somewhat disappointed when I learned our group will be going to GMA Network Center tomorrow. I only know 5% of the talent center while in ABS-CBN I know 95% of them. To add the pressure, all 23 of us will have to pay P120 for the studio tour fee. I might even not recognize any of the celebrities except the obviously-famous ones (like Marian and Dingdong). But if we’ll meet the news team, it’ll be okay.

I’m excited for our musical play to be presented in November. Guess what? I’m going to play as the evil stepmother in a Cinderella/Anastasia clash musical. I think it’ll be my second time to play as a villain; my monologue as The Fates for our Greek mythology presentation was the first. I’ll be the exact opposite - bitchy, devillish and someone who’ll make your life a living hell. Speaking of hell, I’m reading Inferno by Dante for English already. Man, I can’t understand the text. Social life? I’m excited for Family Day, the 26th and the 28th. I’ll be with my Lucky 9 friends! :)

Still, I’m obsessed with the Forever Alone meme.

“I know that Forever Alone meme. It’s a crying potato!” - Sam during CWJ class :))

So let me be and I'll set you free

My favorite Internet meme collection (from left to right): Okay, Troll Face, Rage Guy, Forever Alone and Fck Yea. Thank you Tumblr for introducing me to all these faces of hysteria and random stupidity.

I’m LSS-ed over Maroon 5’s Misery. Great song but I don’t advise you to watch the music video. It’s kind of R-18ish for me. Haha! :))

This is one of the best bloggers I’ve ever known. She’s also one of my blogging buddies. It all started when Ching (the owner of the blog) followed me on Twitter and we began mentioning each other in our tweets. It so happened that a few weeks ago Ching’s blog was featured as Blogger of the Month.

I recommend you to read her blog - you’ll be tantalized with her blog entries. Plus, she likes to read a lot of books too like me.

***This is my first feature of the “Awesome People” section. I’ll be featuring more bloggers soon.

It needs a gentle hand to call it home

As you might have noticed, the comment form is off. Why? Since I’m tied up with schoolwork these days and I don’t get to check out my blog everyday, I don’t get to reply to all of your comments. However, I’d like to thank everyone who commented on my posts because I truly appreciate it. The “comments off” feature won’t be for good - I’ll enable it when everything is light like feathers again.

For almost two weeks, there was a very big problem regarding our Internet connection. No Facebook, no Twitter, no Tumblr, no Blogspot. So what was the alternative to my boredom? Plants vs. Zombies. All those who played the game thought it was awesome so I decided to try my hand out one boring Friday afternoon. Poof! It was just one of the best PC games I ever played. Not to mention the pumped-up energy of the PVZ music video.

I know your type: tall, dark, and dead
You want to bite all the petals off of my head
And then eat the brains of the one who planted me here
I worried about the ACET (Ateneo College Entrance Test) for a few weeks up until September 19, my big day. A week before the test, I’ve come across random Internet blogs and articles saying how difficult the exam was. A day before my exam, I read a lot of tweets saying that the ACET was very hard. It didn’t stop me from praying the rosary the night before and going to Mass the next day.
I did finish the test. Thank God for easing my anxiety and fears. The exam wasn’t hard as I expected. In fact, I found the English and General Information parts easy. Math? Thank goodness there wasn’t much of the nosebleed logarithms. But I’m thankful Sir Vilo taught us the lesson ahead of the ACET.

Nothing great happened in the last two weeks except on the 28th when it was Lucky 9+1’s first monthsary. :) I wish on Family Day (October 24) the ten of us will get together again. And I can’t wait for our kada shirts!
