I asked my Filipino teacher if I can go first, since the Theresian Mag screenings will be 20 minutes after the DP audition starts (TM is at 3:30). She agreed. At lunch time on the screening day, all those who will try out picked their piece so they can prepare for it. Guess what I chose? Kinda embarrassing to post here. Just a clue: you’re stuck in traffic and your tummy rumbles. Get it?
At 3:10, I lined up at the IV-4 classroom for the DP auditions. I did my piece for 30 seconds, then one of the teachers thanked me. No, it doesn’t necessarily mean I didn’t pass. So after that, I headed straight to IV-2 and all those trying out to be writers were there already. I sat down in a vacant seat and got a piece of intermediate pad.
I looked at the board: deadline for submission is at 5:30 pm. Answer the question “What makes you different from all those who auditioned?”. Create a write-up on the A(H1N1) virus and its relevance to STC. Make a literary piece on either simplicity or environment. I made my poem on simplicity. As for the question what makes me unique, I wrote that I am a believer, determined, and an individual. My title for the news article was “STC vs. Swine Flu: The War Begins”. When I submitted my piece to the editors at around 4:45 PM, I was nervous.
I think the results will be in this week. I’m praying to God that I will get these opportunities.
BTW, I heard that Candy Council of Cool is hiring new members once again. I’m going to give a second shot. I just hope I make it this time. And now, I’m treating myself to a new Jake pic.
