I'm the hero of the story

My last post of 2009. In about six hours it will be the New Year! So let me give you the persons and things that rocked my year:

1. Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook! - my top 3 websites! I never turn off the computer without logging in these. Tumblr is my second blog where there are loads of fun because of the photos created by users everywhere. Twitter is my mini-blog when I’m not in the mood to post anything that happened that day (apart from Plurk). Facebook? It’s my main social networking site where I get to connect with my friends, schoolmates, and online buddies. Make me happy by following me in my three accounts found in the profile section of my blog!

2. The Veronicas!

It all started with “4Ever”. I was downloading songs for my PSP that March evening when I saw the song in the top hits. Having heard them before in Sydney White (Revolution was played there), I decided to download three of their songs. I listened to “4Ever” and the rest was history.

Did you know that they were born on Christmas Day? They’re twins too, that’s what makes them adorable. I love The Veronicas not just because they’re pretty but also of their songs. Their electropop songs (try listening to Popular, it’s awesome) make me wanna dance to the groove. I guess only a few Pinoys know about them but I think it’s part of my unique taste in music. I hope they’ll be more popular as they are now in the future.

FYI: I downloaded almost all Veronicas songs in my PSP. :)

3. Love for free from III-3! - I love my 52 classmates! Our class is so nice #3 was named twice after us. Before June 8 of this year, we were just 53 individuals with separate lives. And on that fateful day in June, we were bound together by destiny. Although not all of my friends are in the same section as mine, I met so many wonderful people there. I am very lucky to be in III-3 especially I’ll be with them until I graduate STC in less than two years.

4. Heck Yeah Legacy (particularly Cody Rhodes)!
***Forgive me for putting an X and putting loser on Ted DiBiase’s face. I just hate him. (Sorry fans!)

I started to become addicted to WWE again, thanks to Legacy mem
ber Cody Rhodes. Apart from the fact he’s ruggedly good-looking, he’s a good wrestler too and has potential to be a top Superstar. I wish he’ll be WWE Champion and if ever it happens, I will be watching this for the rest of my life!

5. Jake, Jake, Jake! The Gyllenhaalism goes on…

I have millions of reasons why I love Jake Gyllenhaal more than any other celeb in the world. I haven’t got the chance yet to watch his movie Brothers since it’s not released in Philippine cinemas yet. I have seen the trailers and boy, was I impressed with his performance! I’m waiting for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and I wish 2010 will be a better year for him.

6. Lady Gaga
- one word to describe the hottest pop sensation today: AWESOME! I love her style and songs. Freaky is sooooo out. 7. Jai Ho! Slumdog fever is here!
I loved Slumdog Millionaire because of the story, Dev Patel, and its soundtrack. Back in March, I watched this more than five times. I last watched this in early December and I could still feel the Jai Ho vibe. Good to hear that Dev and Freida are not just a couple on-screen but also off-screen! Destiny indeed!

7. Just enjoy the show, Lenka says so!

Lenka is one of my new favorite singers, thanks to “The Show” and “Trouble Is A Friend”. I also have loads of her songs in my PSP and I enjoy listening to these. She totally rocks my world now!

That’s all for now, folks! I wish you all a Happy New Year! Here’s my message:

Stumblin' but yeah you still lookin' hella fine

Ladies and Gentlemen…I present to you my 2009 Hatelist!

***Disclaimer: These are just my opinions, agreeable or not. :)
Let me begin with my Hatelist. Who or what pissed me off this year?

1. And the Oscar winner for Best Picture goes to….Careless Whisper “directed” by Dr. Hayden Kho! - Who wouldn’t forget the sizzling videotapes that rocked YouTube in late May and June? Wham! definitely wouldn’t be pleased when they found out their hit has gained national notoriety, thanks to Dr. Hayden’s scandalous “rehearsal” and many others. Even Ms. G made a joke about it during the first days of junior year: “Naku, baka mamaya ma-Careless Whisper kayo diyan!” Now whenever I think of that song, I think of Dr. Vicki’s former flame. He deserves to win an Oscar for his superior “acting”.

2. I want nobody, nobody but YOU! Kill the music! - When it first hit the airwaves, Wonder Girls’ Nobody was a pleasant sound to the ears. But now it’s played everywhere, this song makes me sick. What’s worse is that K-Pop has gone mainstream. I wanted to laugh out and scream “Epic Fail” when I watched an episode of Starstruck and saw the boys singing Super Junior’s “Sorry Sorry” along with their hammy dancing. I can’t blame Boys Over Flowers anyway for putting Nobody into the shores. Next year, what would be the next hit? I want everybody but you? Let’s find out!

3. “Kris doesn’t deserve to be American Idol! Adam should’ve won!” - Oh please. Stop the whining! Kris and Adam are both American Idol winners in my book. With Lambert’s oozing charisma and Allen’s incomparable musical skills, they make a new definition of American Idol. It just pisses me off that Glamberts can’t accept the fact Allenation won the competition. It will be great to see them both prospering in their solo careers.

4. The never-ending cheesy telenovelas….wait a minute, did you say remakes? - I don’t enjoy local TV anymore since it’s just the lame old storylines copied and pasted into one TV show. Then they’ll claim that they have the highest ratings even if their story sucks bigtime. The TV award-giving bodies yet have to give recognition to the TV shows yet one of them claims to be “award-winning”. And those TV remakes? Get a life! You’re just ruining the original show! I just have to say we’re lucky to know that the Pinoy remake of Gossip Girl has been scrapped and flushed down the toilet.

5. Multiply to Divide? - Created my site on January 17 this year. Officially abandoned it 11 months later. Multiply has transformed from the talk of the town to the back of every person’s minds. Back in January, my classmates are addicted to it and I would get 100+ posts on my inbox. Now I’ll check on it and get less than 10 posts with messages containing “Moved to Facebook!”. I never liked Multiply anyway because it was overrated and it tried to replace Friendster (which was unsuccessful). I just hate it when it gets paired off with Facebook and leaves FS in the dust. Why I dislike Multiply? It’s overhyped, overrated, and over-advertised. No wonder ABS-CBN owns 5% of the website and tried to make it as the #1 social networking website in the country., thanks to its continuous advertising through its shows. Sorry, Facebook and Twitter owned you this year.

6. My BOYISH haircut.

I had this very awful haircut last summer, April 1 to be exact. My mom insisted me on having this hair. I looked like a guy with that haircut. Everybody was telling me it looks good on me but whenever I take pictures of myself, I look terrible. I promise to myself never to cut my hair that short ever again.

7. The Retreat Made In Hell - See my post One Less Lonely Girl for the whole story why I didn’t enjoy our class retreat.

8. Buy me on Friends for Sale! I cost a million $$$! - Friends for Sale is the most annoying Facebook application ever. I hate it whenever I see comments urging friends to buy them on FFS. What is the point of selling your friends anyway? You can never give away your pals for a million dollars in real life anyway. Friends are NOT made of money. If you ask me what is my favorite FB application, I’ll answer you this: Sorority Life!

I have a lot more but I can’t say why they make up my hatelist. I guess I have to reveal my hitlist tomorrow. Here’s a treat from the late 90’s pop - the Golden Age of Music. I just miss this.

Stars in our eyes cause we're having a good time

I am not sure if I’ll be able to blog tomorrow, New Year’s Eve. Before I give you my 2009 Hitlist and Hatelist, I’ll just give you a piece of mind if 2009 was better than last year or not.

To be honest, it was definitely better than last year. Why? Here’s the list of my hits and misses:

I added another title to my resume of accomplishments: News Writer of Theresian Magazine! I just enjoy this job so much and I thank the Lord for giving me this opportunity.

I finally got in Dulaang Pinoy! Last August, I played an ant in a school play for the Prep students. Aside from being praised by my teachers and fellow DP members, I had a great time showing my talent.

At the end of the year, I didn’t know being in III-3 would be a learning experience. I have to admit that it wasn’t my first choice of my dream section. However six months forward, I felt the appreciation and purpose of being there. I just love my classmates! Want love for free? Then get some from III-3!

Social Interaction of Third Year >>>>>>> Social Interaction of Second Year. Less controversy, more fun.

This year’s trip to the Seven Lakes Of Laguna is the most enjoyable Outbound ever since First Year! Thank goodness I was injury-free the whole time!

Dad came to visit us on July 31 - I miss my personal quality time with him. I had so much fun during his two-week stay. Did you know that his arrival came a day before the late, great President Cory Aquino passed away? Too bad Dad isn’t with us this Christmas since he’s in Singapore but at least he got to call us up on the 25th. Now that made my day! Hearing his voice puts a smile on my face already.

CS Garments trip on December 4. Ahhhh….don’t ask me why! Hehe, just kidding! I felt like a real factory worker that day. I didn’t know fusing garments can never be this fun!

The good news: III-3 won the runner-up at our Songfest. The bad news: we lost at the Dance Pro. As long as we stick together, we’re winners.

Intrams 2009 was the best. I had a great time bonding with my friends while watching the games. I’ll be playing chess again at the upcoming Intrams on January 5 (Abby’s birthday!) though. Haha!

This year I took a serious interest in fashion. Well, I wanted to be like my schoolmates whose fabulous style make me go woah. And with the help of Candy and Theresians on campus, I became a fashion-obsessed teen.

I became obsessed with Tumblr, Facebook, Plurk, and Twitter! I’ll never turn the computer off without visiting these sites.

I experienced Advanced Algebra and Chemistry hell. But thank goodness I continued to manage my studies even with all of this pressure.

Insecurity? It increased this year.

So here you go. My rundown for 2009. Rating? 8/10. Now for my next post….2009 HITLIST AND HATELIST!

All of them one to one hundred

Two days to go before Christmas! A few days ago I just installed my final blog layout for 2009 - featuring Starstrukk (30H3! song which I have to listen yet). Plus, I made my profile section more detailed than ever. Today I checked out my Twitter page and I can’t believe it. I grew to more than 65 followers! I need about 30 more before I reach a hundred. So to all my followers, thank you very much! You just gave me an advanced Christmas present! I’d like to thank my 50+ followers to in Tumblr - just keep the spirit!

While I was browsing on Tumblr (the website I spend time the most aside from Facebook and Twitter) I saw this photo. I don’t know if this is true but…is Justin Bieber really GAY? Whoa. What a way to ruin his young career. If ever this news is true, then I wish Bieber’s popularity wouldn’t die down.

For the past few days I’ve been thinking of something to do to end 2009 with my blog. Remember last year’s “2008’s Most Overrated” post? I’m planning to do two versions: one for my 2009 Hitlist and another for my 2009 Hatelist. Some of the things I’ve placed under “Overrated in 2008” are no longer up there since it’s now the other way around. Let me give you an example - oops. I don’t want to spoil you readers. BTW, I can’t wait for Christmas which like I said above is in two days. I and my mom will spend the holiday in the mall, watching MMFF movies. Haha!

I just hope I’ll be online tomorrow or at Christmas Day itself to reveal my customized Christmas art!

Strike a pose

It’s finally our Christmas vacation! Woohoo! The celebration yesterday was just fine, especially the presentation of the Merry Green Hats by all of the sections of all year levels. I’ll tell you more about it later. BTW, here is a treat for all of you: my first customized wallpaper! I know it’s not really the best one but I have to say I worked hard for it.

This is a wallpaper of The Fame Monster feat. Lady Gaga. Click on the photo to view the whole image and save it to the comfort of your own desktop!

The Sweet Escape

The trip to CS Garments last December 4 was an experience for me. Aside from having fun with my classmates, I finally felt what it’s like to be a worker for one of the world’s finest garment factories. Supposedly I am to work at the sewing group but for some reasons Ms. G couldn’t fathom, I was transferred to the fusing group.

The adrenaline was in the air when III-3 and III-4 arrived there. Aside from working with girls from III-4 (I’m in III-3), we got to live the life of a garment worker. After lots of instructions from one of the heads, the five of us began to fuse a bundle of lab gowns. At first I thought it was difficult but while working, I learned it wasn’t so complicated. To culminate the activity, I became III-3’s representative to share my experiences. Some of the pics are posted on Facebook thanks to the girls who brought their cameras that day. We left the place at 11:30 AM and on the bus we got to watch some bloody Stone Cold movie. When we arrived at STC at around 1:30 PM, we practiced for last Tuesday’s Songfest.

Mom and Tita Badette got to watch the event. My classmates prayed so hard for us to win the Songfest, may it be the champion or the runner-up. Have you heard of St. Rita of Cascia, the “Saint of the Impossible”? We prayed to her because she was the patroness of impossibility. All the hard work has paid off - we got the runner-up. At the end of the Songfest, the three of us ate in McDo Retiro. And the day ends there.

I posted on Twitter a few hours ago about me making wallpapers. I already made one for Christmas and I’m planning to do some more. It’s six days before Christmas break! I just hope I could survive the last Hell Week of 2009. :)

He waits in the wings and he's gotta play a part

I’ll be off in a few minutes because I’ll be off to school for CS Garments. Today when we arrive back in STC, we will have a practice for the Songfest so our dismissal is extended up to 4 PM. In fact, it’s 4:45 AM. I think this is the second time I went online before going to school - in the wee hours of the morning. I have to start my day with a little spice!

Right now I’m on Tumblr (always part of my to-do list when online) and reblogging photos. Here’s one I truly love:

If you think you’ll never find the right person because it seems like all the hot people are taken, think again. The person who deserves you so much isn’t arriving yet in your life, so have a little patience. Like the fortune cookies says, someone loves you out there. You just don’t know it yet.
I just found this cool Veronicas wallpaper on the Net and I’m thinking of making this as my main desktop:

And before I leave, I just found something:

The ugly truth

I’m just sick of being called ugly.

I am part of the 304 girls in the batch where lots of them are gorgeous as hell. When I say “gorgeous”, it means being as thin as a supermodel, well-endowed, looks like a celebrity, wears fashionable clothes, and has lots of suitors even they’re not even that smart. Oh yes, she also belongs to the most dominant clique in the batch. Privileges I never had in my life I want to have before I become a college freshman.

Why am I telling this? I’ll always look at photos of some schoolmates and wish I had their faces. I would wish I was as thin as them. Okay, here comes Candice the chubby-cheeked, eyeglass-wearing gal. I want to wear contacts because I don’t want to look too dorky with my specs, but my parents won’t allow me to. They think they’re dangerous for me. Come on. I just want them.

The point is, everytime I pass around the corridors, some would hurl about my looks. They’ll always tell me how ugly I am. They’ll say, “You look like a wart”, “No guy will like you because you’re fat and ugly”, “Every girl in the school is way prettier than you”, and such other hurtful comments. Some will even compare me to our batch’s “Beautiful People” (whoever they are) and say I’m no match for them. You know what? Because of those comments, my desire to be good-looking toppled to the extreme. I developed an interest in fashion and started wearing face powder to school. I admired classic beauties. I began to build up my self-confidence through my talents.

But still, it wasn’t enough. All I want to hear is a compliment on how beautiful I am. I think there are lots of people out there who are ashamed to say that in front of my face. That’s the way the universe works. People are just too shy to say anything good about you sometimes. Well at least, I appreciate the compliments I get from my parents, relatives, friends, classmates, teachers, and online buddies who’ve seen my photos. I wish there are more people who’ll do that someday. Wishes?

I wish I was thin….but I’ll never be one since I’m big-boned.

Tomorrow will be a trip to CS Garments for our PALIHAN and I need to get some sleep. Next week is definitely a busy week for me! :)
