UPDATED (10:30 PM): My bad, my bad! I edited this post again because of traces of literal ambiguity. One rule in writing: never rush and always double check before publishing to make sure it will captivate potential readers.
Yep, you just read the title of this post. Now I’m back in the Philippines and ready to bolt to school tomorrow morning, I will not go to bed tonight without telling you about my food escapades with my parents over the vacation. Bear with me for I will narrate the whole tale in non-chronological order.
May 18 = Dinner at Marche in VivoCity! A restaurant based in Switzerland, the cuisine is not only appetizing but also healthy. As a result of a very satisfying meal, one of my newest wishes is for Marche to open here in the Philippines.
The best Spanish paella I’ve ever tasted since the one in Illustrado (located in Intramuros)
My main course: roasted chicken, mashed potato, and garlic bread
Family-sized pasta salad
Pork sausages
Choco banana crepe
May 19 = My dad and I went to Orchard for a lunch at Botak Jones. The photo you’ll see below is my meal: cajun chicken, spicy crinkle cut fries, and corn on the cob. Originally the fries was supposed to be non-spicy but the waitress made a mistake so as an act of compensation she gave us a free platter of fries. Yum!
On the Friday prior to the above-mentioned days (May 17), my mom and I accompanied my dad in Expo to claim his race pack for May 31’s annual Sundown race. Another main purpose for our visit there was to grab a bite of Texas Chicken which is personally one of my top three favorite fastfood chains with the best chicken. KFC and Popeye’s also serve their rightful spots in the said distinction.
In lieu of Mother’s Day, we celebrated it with a dinner at Brotzeit German Bar and Restaurant. Up there was a touring band who came all the way from Germany to perform for the customers. The food took a while to arrive; however, we were able to enjoy the rest of the evening thanks to pompous spice of Europe’s finest.
Germany’s world-famous pork knuckle
After chomping on one of the sausages we ordered, I was able to fully understand why Germany is famous for that meal alone.
Bacon pizza, my favorite of the bunch
Brotzeit menu
My soda glass clinked with dad’s beer pitcher as a toast to everything lovely in this planet.
P.S. Last Friday, I watched The Fast and The Furious 6 with my dad then mom followed us to eat at Kenny Rogers’ Roasters. Yesterday, I returned to Manila after a month and five days’ absence. It was not complete without a lunch at Pizza Hut in Changi Airport before my scheduled departure. We were so nice to one of the waiters he gave us a free stub for one of their promos. Woohoo!
P.S. 2. First day of majors tomorrow! I am so stoked for this school year :)
