Let's Get Random, Shall We?

Should thcandydoll return to Blogspot where everything began?

On Sunday morning,  I opened my old Blogspot account because I was torn whether I should import all my posts from this Tumblr to Blogspot (where the site I used to own was housed) or not. As much as I enjoy sharing my personal thoughts on the website I learned to love, at that time I thought of returning to where it all began because I missed it so much. Just when I was about to continue the process, I realized one distinct thing I cannot absolutely do on Blogspot: reblog posts that can serve as fillers every time I have nothing to share about my life. Besides, why abandon Tumblr if I have earned a respectable following since I landed my feet on this cyberspace? Right now I am sitting in my bed wearing a pink hoodie I’ve owned since first year high school and typing this entry in the blogging platform we all spend our owl-foresaken hours.

While girls my age are drooling over One Direction and boys turning into werewolves, my attention is on my newfound love for hockey players and the sport itself. And it all began last summer.

Call me an alien or anything but I would pick an attractive and skilled hockey player over any member of the band any day. Nothing against 1D though; in fact I admire their tightness on and off stage and the loyal fans who support all five of them instead of just one member (remember Justin Timberlake and N*SYNC?). It’s just that my preferences differ from many girls my age these days. Back to hockey players: it’s perfectly normal to find some of them attractive but it should not be the reason why you are a fan of the sport. A friendly reminder coming from someone who got introduced to the sport officially this summer: you are watching a game, not a male beauty pageant. It’s the National Hockey League, not the National Handsome League. If I watched hockey only to see how dreamy the players are, I would have stopped supporting the Pittsburgh Penguins only because of their forgettable series against the Boston Bruins in this year’s Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals (don’t remind me about that it still hurts but I’m glad Chicago won the Stanley Cup). Win or lose, I remain supportive of them even though they lost two games in the preseason to the Red Wings and the Blue Jackets huhu. Thanks to Youtube, Bleacher Report, and the fandom on Tumblr and even Twitter, I learned to appreciate hockey more than those pretty faces; rather, it is a sport just as exciting as basketball except it is on the ice. I’ve made a resolution to myself: I shall be fully updated with what’s happening to the hockey league beginning this season.

*daratdatdatdadadadat* Just search for the hockey tag if you really want to know what I’m talking about. I would not mention names anymore, but without being a puck bunny all I have to say is there are lots of players who are offsprings of beauty and brawn in the league. Never ever go to a game in a wedding dress like this lass down here (and this is coming from a Sidney Crosby fan):

Trust me, there are more of these fan signs all over the Web. Many of them are straight-up hilarious.

There she was just walking down the street singing doo wah diddy diddy dum diddy doo

Odd fact: I’ve been listening to that song for a week now. Blame this radio station for playing that in one of their segments on Monday last week. Hearing the Manfred Mann’s signature hit always reminds me of My Girl (the movie) and Ang TV (theme song) because it was largely used there. Please don’t judge me for finding pleasure in songs from the fifties and sixties.

Save the iPhone 5C for next Christmas or on my 21st birthday, eh?

I love my current phone so much even though 4S, 5, and now 5S and 5C are the reigning hot commodities in the smartphone market. Why swap it for a newer model when mine is still working perfectly and beautifully? I’d love to snag the pink one if given the chance though :)

That’s all for now folks! Before I bid adieu, let me leave you some words of wisdom from Dr. D during our first meeting in INSERCH: “It’s not about time. It’s all about self-respect and discipline.” So do not rush things. Make the most out of the minutes in creating an exemplary, well-made output. Squandering precious time would let you lose your chance at what would have been inedible pieces of knowledge.

NOTE: I still haven’t updated my phone to iOS 7…aaaaaand I AM SO STOKED FOR THIS YEAR’S UAAP BASKETBALL’S FINAL FOUR.
