Hey Hey 2015

As this would be the last post of 2014, I’d like to thank all of you for keeping this blog alive and for making life awesome the past twelve months. I was supposed to write about my year-end post at this time but I’ll be spending the day with my family the rest of the day so let’s save it first. Have a blessed New Year everyone!

P.S. I have no regrets watching both Before Sunrise and Before Sunset in less than twelve hours. Must-see films!

Hallelujah, Where's The Tylenol?

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones! So what has happened during my Christmas break so far? Let me tell you about it through these photographs:

I was lacking in polo shirts so I was glad when I finally got some pieces from Giordano. In addition to these comfy tops, I got a Cache Cache dress on sale!

When I was first introduced to Uniqlo two years ago thanks to blogs and billboards, I have to admit I wasn’t too impressed with their stuff because I thought it was limited to winter apparel only. Then came those graphic tees from Peanuts and Disney as well as the flannel polos and va va voom dresses which have changed my perspective on the clothing brand. Ever since snagging a hoodie (current fave) from there earlier in the year, I appreciated Uniqlo more than I expected.

Speaking of Christmas gifts, I did not get a gadget or a gift card from the best brands in the world. I’m fine with it because spending time with my parents is enough with me to have a meaningful Yuletide celebration to be honest. What my dad gave me just trumps any of the things on my wishlist because it just came out of the blue while strolling around H&M in Orchard. I am forever grateful for finally getting this baby in my closet. And here it is…TADA!

What’s a vacation without food?

Crystal Jade Garden is a heavenly place for Chinese dimsum.

Sirloin and oglio pasta meal during a dinner with mom at Hot Tomato!

Just chillin’ in the swimming pool at my parents’ new place. It’s 2014 and I still swim like a puppy.

A few days before Christmas, I got this marvelous surprise when I logged in to my MyLasalle account. Thank you so much Sir Doy (MSMEDIA and thesis mentor) and Miss Mamawal (PRODUCE) for rewarding the hard work I’ve put up the three months! I would not have survived (and enjoyed) the term without my professors, friends, classmates, orgmates, and family.

JUST ONE MORE TERM LEFT!!!

Other Stuff in Life, Lately:

  • Alex Goot and Friends’ cover of 22 is eargasm.

  • I loved Pop Danthology 2013. 2014? Personally it was meh. But I trust your musical skills so you be the judge.

  • I just finished all ten episodes (so far) of Gotham and now I can’t wait for the series to resume soon.

  • Halfway done with David Sheff's Beautiful Boy. Emotionally compelling book.

  • The longest I’ve ran on a treadmill is ten minutes. TEN MINUTES. Gah time to start working on my fitness.

  • I’m going to work on my year-end post right before the calendar turns to 2015.

  • I can’t find a decent livestream of the World Junior Championships :(  The reason I want to watch it is to see how hockey’s prospects are thriving even before they turn pro.

  • "You’re soft like Charmin.” - Thanks Kobe for my new favorite catchphrase.

  • Updated my personal portfolio and CV over the break! #proud

  • Gonna watch The Interview after publishing this. See you guys later leaving now!

2014 Pittsburgh Penguins Holiday Card

I woke up at 5AM yesterday only to see the Penguins’ tweet link to their holiday video. This is not only better than their fake holiday album the previous year but also it’s more hilarious. I guess I have to watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation now as the team’s e-card is a parody of the comedy film.

Off-topic: so far my Christmas vacation is going smoothly :)

My life

Just as when I thought I could no longer escape the dark cave of thesis, horrendous losing streaks, and wild stuff I couldn’t think of anymore, the rays of sunshine struck my eyes. Lo and behold, I saw awesome people and with that I turned into a happy wiggly penguin again :“>

Enough of Encyclopedia Dramatica and move on to life lately - a very, very delayed edition that a bunch of stuff happened a month ago!

What happened in November: mustache everywhere, four weeks of blood, sweat and tears because of thesis proposal, getting all the white hair from worrying about a bunch of stuff, the MSMEDIA speaker series, all the ups and downs of PRODUCE, the internship at the Tullao Lecture Series, Aldrin’s birthday lunch (with Cadbury galore), and the Penguins going on their annual November hump once again.

What happened in December (so far): SMO Christmas Party, PRODUCE trailer shoot for our horror anthology series, caught up with TV shows and films, an enticing dinner at Bagnet 8065 with ze friends before the PRODUCE shoot yesterday, applied for the 1st Communication Conference central committee to celebrate the Comm Department’s 40th anniversary in February, distributed Green & White registration kits, and I’m getting DESFILM (Design for Film) and INDIFLM (Independent Film) for my electives next term.

Christmas break, better be grade-A amazing!
