What Have You Done For Me Lately? #6: Friends, Rainbows and Pizzas Against Humanity
It’s been a while, eh? The good news is that my life has been pretty active and balanced although I haven’t been on Tumblr as often as I was used to. Work, family, friends and life in general have kept me in good spirits. February might not have been as uber-fantastico as January but it still had its fair share of moments that made me smile.
1. I don’t know about you, but I finally turned (and felt) 22 last January 20 - and it was the best birthday I’ve ever had in years. As a rite of passage to my “adulting” stage, I treated my friends to dinner at Tokyo Tokyo which was then followed by Starbucks and chill. A week later, I treated my family to a post-birthday celebration at Uncle Cheffy’s where we had a heap of New England roast beef, Asian fried rice and their luscious cheese pizza. Meanwhile, I’d like to express my sincerest gratitude for all your greetings may it be via text, in-person or social media. Lots of love xo! :)
2. Nothing but good things happen whenever reunions with friends happen especially when you haven’t seen each other for a long time. The weekend before my birthday, my college friends and I met up at Glorietta where we had lunch at A Veneto Napoli Pizzeria Ristorante, checked out the latest finds at Powerbooks and spent the rest of the afternoon at Coffee Bean. And since our group shares a common love for movies and TV series, we brought our hard drives for the sake of copying each others’ files. Haha!
3. Met up with Monzie and Czar last February 13 and it was a blast! We roamed around DLSU for the first time since our baccalaureate mass in June, ate lunch at Exile, chilled in Czar’s condo, watched Deadpool at Shang and waited for the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra mini-concert in the same venue for an hour but Czar had to leave early as her aunt arrived to fetch her. Speaking of Deadpool, it was worth the hype and laughs!
4. Who doesn’t love Cards Against Humanity? This game got me in stitches for hours.
5. A rainbow appeared on the day of Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach’s victory parade around Ayala. Astonishing, right? But that’s not all - I got to see her on the float!
6. Project Pie is the best thing that has happened to pizza in the many years I’ve been eating this dish. Monzie and I grabbed lunch at the SM North Edsa branch a few weeks ago and we’d love to go back there because we enjoyed customizing our own pizzas so much!
7. Mozzarella katsu sticks, Yabu’s newest appetizer, is a gift for all mozzarella sticks lovers like me. This was the one I ate when my officemates and I had an impromptu dinner at the restaurant last Friday.
8. At first, I was hesitant to spend my Sunday at the annual Art Fair in The Link because I wanted to rest after a long, productive week that had passed. Fortunately, I made the last-minute decision to go there as it was the last day and I wanted to boost my creative juices. This year’s Art Fair was a wonderland with all the stunning artworks in full display. Not only that, I bumped into a few old friends while roaming around alone (lol) in the exhibits.
9. Today is the 30th anniversary of the first EDSA revolution which is why I’m chilling at home today. But before the #bumlife happened, Monzie and I spent time after work for a dinner at Army Navy couple with a cup of double fudge blizzard with Chips Ahoy and Oreo bits at Dairy Queen. Heaven!
