I'm the hero of the story

My last post of 2009. In about six hours it will be the New Year! So let me give you the persons and things that rocked my year:

1. Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook! - my top 3 websites! I never turn off the computer without logging in these. Tumblr is my second blog where there are loads of fun because of the photos created by users everywhere. Twitter is my mini-blog when I’m not in the mood to post anything that happened that day (apart from Plurk). Facebook? It’s my main social networking site where I get to connect with my friends, schoolmates, and online buddies. Make me happy by following me in my three accounts found in the profile section of my blog!

2. The Veronicas!

It all started with “4Ever”. I was downloading songs for my PSP that March evening when I saw the song in the top hits. Having heard them before in Sydney White (Revolution was played there), I decided to download three of their songs. I listened to “4Ever” and the rest was history.

Did you know that they were born on Christmas Day? They’re twins too, that’s what makes them adorable. I love The Veronicas not just because they’re pretty but also of their songs. Their electropop songs (try listening to Popular, it’s awesome) make me wanna dance to the groove. I guess only a few Pinoys know about them but I think it’s part of my unique taste in music. I hope they’ll be more popular as they are now in the future.

FYI: I downloaded almost all Veronicas songs in my PSP. :)

3. Love for free from III-3! - I love my 52 classmates! Our class is so nice #3 was named twice after us. Before June 8 of this year, we were just 53 individuals with separate lives. And on that fateful day in June, we were bound together by destiny. Although not all of my friends are in the same section as mine, I met so many wonderful people there. I am very lucky to be in III-3 especially I’ll be with them until I graduate STC in less than two years.

4. Heck Yeah Legacy (particularly Cody Rhodes)!
***Forgive me for putting an X and putting loser on Ted DiBiase’s face. I just hate him. (Sorry fans!)

I started to become addicted to WWE again, thanks to Legacy mem
ber Cody Rhodes. Apart from the fact he’s ruggedly good-looking, he’s a good wrestler too and has potential to be a top Superstar. I wish he’ll be WWE Champion and if ever it happens, I will be watching this for the rest of my life!

5. Jake, Jake, Jake! The Gyllenhaalism goes on…

I have millions of reasons why I love Jake Gyllenhaal more than any other celeb in the world. I haven’t got the chance yet to watch his movie Brothers since it’s not released in Philippine cinemas yet. I have seen the trailers and boy, was I impressed with his performance! I’m waiting for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and I wish 2010 will be a better year for him.

6. Lady Gaga
- one word to describe the hottest pop sensation today: AWESOME! I love her style and songs. Freaky is sooooo out. 7. Jai Ho! Slumdog fever is here!
I loved Slumdog Millionaire because of the story, Dev Patel, and its soundtrack. Back in March, I watched this more than five times. I last watched this in early December and I could still feel the Jai Ho vibe. Good to hear that Dev and Freida are not just a couple on-screen but also off-screen! Destiny indeed!

7. Just enjoy the show, Lenka says so!

Lenka is one of my new favorite singers, thanks to “The Show” and “Trouble Is A Friend”. I also have loads of her songs in my PSP and I enjoy listening to these. She totally rocks my world now!

That’s all for now, folks! I wish you all a Happy New Year! Here’s my message:

12.30.2009

Stumblin' but yeah you still lookin' hella fine

Ladies and Gentlemen…I present to you my 2009 Hatelist!

***Disclaimer: These are just my opinions, agreeable or not. :)
Let me begin with my Hatelist. Who or what pissed me off this year?

1. And the Oscar winner for Best Picture goes to….Careless Whisper “directed” by Dr. Hayden Kho! - Who wouldn’t forget the sizzling videotapes that rocked YouTube in late May and June? Wham! definitely wouldn’t be pleased when they found out their hit has gained national notoriety, thanks to Dr. Hayden’s scandalous “rehearsal” and many others. Even Ms. G made a joke about it during the first days of junior year: “Naku, baka mamaya ma-Careless Whisper kayo diyan!” Now whenever I think of that song, I think of Dr. Vicki’s former flame. He deserves to win an Oscar for his superior “acting”.

2. I want nobody, nobody but YOU! Kill the music! - When it first hit the airwaves, Wonder Girls’ Nobody was a pleasant sound to the ears. But now it’s played everywhere, this song makes me sick. What’s worse is that K-Pop has gone mainstream. I wanted to laugh out and scream “Epic Fail” when I watched an episode of Starstruck and saw the boys singing Super Junior’s “Sorry Sorry” along with their hammy dancing. I can’t blame Boys Over Flowers anyway for putting Nobody into the shores. Next year, what would be the next hit? I want everybody but you? Let’s find out!

3. “Kris doesn’t deserve to be American Idol! Adam should’ve won!” - Oh please. Stop the whining! Kris and Adam are both American Idol winners in my book. With Lambert’s oozing charisma and Allen’s incomparable musical skills, they make a new definition of American Idol. It just pisses me off that Glamberts can’t accept the fact Allenation won the competition. It will be great to see them both prospering in their solo careers.

4. The never-ending cheesy telenovelas….wait a minute, did you say remakes? - I don’t enjoy local TV anymore since it’s just the lame old storylines copied and pasted into one TV show. Then they’ll claim that they have the highest ratings even if their story sucks bigtime. The TV award-giving bodies yet have to give recognition to the TV shows yet one of them claims to be “award-winning”. And those TV remakes? Get a life! You’re just ruining the original show! I just have to say we’re lucky to know that the Pinoy remake of Gossip Girl has been scrapped and flushed down the toilet.

5. Multiply to Divide? - Created my site on January 17 this year. Officially abandoned it 11 months later. Multiply has transformed from the talk of the town to the back of every person’s minds. Back in January, my classmates are addicted to it and I would get 100+ posts on my inbox. Now I’ll check on it and get less than 10 posts with messages containing “Moved to Facebook!”. I never liked Multiply anyway because it was overrated and it tried to replace Friendster (which was unsuccessful). I just hate it when it gets paired off with Facebook and leaves FS in the dust. Why I dislike Multiply? It’s overhyped, overrated, and over-advertised. No wonder ABS-CBN owns 5% of the website and tried to make it as the #1 social networking website in the country., thanks to its continuous advertising through its shows. Sorry, Facebook and Twitter owned you this year.

6. My BOYISH haircut.

I had this very awful haircut last summer, April 1 to be exact. My mom insisted me on having this hair. I looked like a guy with that haircut. Everybody was telling me it looks good on me but whenever I take pictures of myself, I look terrible. I promise to myself never to cut my hair that short ever again.

7. The Retreat Made In Hell - See my post One Less Lonely Girl for the whole story why I didn’t enjoy our class retreat.

8. Buy me on Friends for Sale! I cost a million $$$! - Friends for Sale is the most annoying Facebook application ever. I hate it whenever I see comments urging friends to buy them on FFS. What is the point of selling your friends anyway? You can never give away your pals for a million dollars in real life anyway. Friends are NOT made of money. If you ask me what is my favorite FB application, I’ll answer you this: Sorority Life!

I have a lot more but I can’t say why they make up my hatelist. I guess I have to reveal my hitlist tomorrow. Here’s a treat from the late 90’s pop - the Golden Age of Music. I just miss this.

Stars in our eyes cause we're having a good time

I am not sure if I’ll be able to blog tomorrow, New Year’s Eve. Before I give you my 2009 Hitlist and Hatelist, I’ll just give you a piece of mind if 2009 was better than last year or not.

To be honest, it was definitely better than last year. Why? Here’s the list of my hits and misses:

I added another title to my resume of accomplishments: News Writer of Theresian Magazine! I just enjoy this job so much and I thank the Lord for giving me this opportunity.

I finally got in Dulaang Pinoy! Last August, I played an ant in a school play for the Prep students. Aside from being praised by my teachers and fellow DP members, I had a great time showing my talent.

At the end of the year, I didn’t know being in III-3 would be a learning experience. I have to admit that it wasn’t my first choice of my dream section. However six months forward, I felt the appreciation and purpose of being there. I just love my classmates! Want love for free? Then get some from III-3!

Social Interaction of Third Year >>>>>>> Social Interaction of Second Year. Less controversy, more fun.

This year’s trip to the Seven Lakes Of Laguna is the most enjoyable Outbound ever since First Year! Thank goodness I was injury-free the whole time!

Dad came to visit us on July 31 - I miss my personal quality time with him. I had so much fun during his two-week stay. Did you know that his arrival came a day before the late, great President Cory Aquino passed away? Too bad Dad isn’t with us this Christmas since he’s in Singapore but at least he got to call us up on the 25th. Now that made my day! Hearing his voice puts a smile on my face already.

CS Garments trip on December 4. Ahhhh….don’t ask me why! Hehe, just kidding! I felt like a real factory worker that day. I didn’t know fusing garments can never be this fun!

The good news: III-3 won the runner-up at our Songfest. The bad news: we lost at the Dance Pro. As long as we stick together, we’re winners.

Intrams 2009 was the best. I had a great time bonding with my friends while watching the games. I’ll be playing chess again at the upcoming Intrams on January 5 (Abby’s birthday!) though. Haha!

This year I took a serious interest in fashion. Well, I wanted to be like my schoolmates whose fabulous style make me go woah. And with the help of Candy and Theresians on campus, I became a fashion-obsessed teen.

I became obsessed with Tumblr, Facebook, Plurk, and Twitter! I’ll never turn the computer off without visiting these sites.

I experienced Advanced Algebra and Chemistry hell. But thank goodness I continued to manage my studies even with all of this pressure.

Insecurity? It increased this year.

So here you go. My rundown for 2009. Rating? 8/10. Now for my next post….2009 HITLIST AND HATELIST!

All of them one to one hundred

Two days to go before Christmas! A few days ago I just installed my final blog layout for 2009 - featuring Starstrukk (30H3! song which I have to listen yet). Plus, I made my profile section more detailed than ever. Today I checked out my Twitter page and I can’t believe it. I grew to more than 65 followers! I need about 30 more before I reach a hundred. So to all my followers, thank you very much! You just gave me an advanced Christmas present! I’d like to thank my 50+ followers to in Tumblr - just keep the spirit!

While I was browsing on Tumblr (the website I spend time the most aside from Facebook and Twitter) I saw this photo. I don’t know if this is true but…is Justin Bieber really GAY? Whoa. What a way to ruin his young career. If ever this news is true, then I wish Bieber’s popularity wouldn’t die down.

For the past few days I’ve been thinking of something to do to end 2009 with my blog. Remember last year’s “2008’s Most Overrated” post? I’m planning to do two versions: one for my 2009 Hitlist and another for my 2009 Hatelist. Some of the things I’ve placed under “Overrated in 2008” are no longer up there since it’s now the other way around. Let me give you an example - oops. I don’t want to spoil you readers. BTW, I can’t wait for Christmas which like I said above is in two days. I and my mom will spend the holiday in the mall, watching MMFF movies. Haha!

I just hope I’ll be online tomorrow or at Christmas Day itself to reveal my customized Christmas art!

12.19.2009

Strike a pose

It’s finally our Christmas vacation! Woohoo! The celebration yesterday was just fine, especially the presentation of the Merry Green Hats by all of the sections of all year levels. I’ll tell you more about it later. BTW, here is a treat for all of you: my first customized wallpaper! I know it’s not really the best one but I have to say I worked hard for it.

This is a wallpaper of The Fame Monster feat. Lady Gaga. Click on the photo to view the whole image and save it to the comfort of your own desktop!

The Sweet Escape

The trip to CS Garments last December 4 was an experience for me. Aside from having fun with my classmates, I finally felt what it’s like to be a worker for one of the world’s finest garment factories. Supposedly I am to work at the sewing group but for some reasons Ms. G couldn’t fathom, I was transferred to the fusing group.

The adrenaline was in the air when III-3 and III-4 arrived there. Aside from working with girls from III-4 (I’m in III-3), we got to live the life of a garment worker. After lots of instructions from one of the heads, the five of us began to fuse a bundle of lab gowns. At first I thought it was difficult but while working, I learned it wasn’t so complicated. To culminate the activity, I became III-3’s representative to share my experiences. Some of the pics are posted on Facebook thanks to the girls who brought their cameras that day. We left the place at 11:30 AM and on the bus we got to watch some bloody Stone Cold movie. When we arrived at STC at around 1:30 PM, we practiced for last Tuesday’s Songfest.

Mom and Tita Badette got to watch the event. My classmates prayed so hard for us to win the Songfest, may it be the champion or the runner-up. Have you heard of St. Rita of Cascia, the “Saint of the Impossible”? We prayed to her because she was the patroness of impossibility. All the hard work has paid off - we got the runner-up. At the end of the Songfest, the three of us ate in McDo Retiro. And the day ends there.

I posted on Twitter a few hours ago about me making wallpapers. I already made one for Christmas and I’m planning to do some more. It’s six days before Christmas break! I just hope I could survive the last Hell Week of 2009. :)

He waits in the wings and he's gotta play a part

I’ll be off in a few minutes because I’ll be off to school for CS Garments. Today when we arrive back in STC, we will have a practice for the Songfest so our dismissal is extended up to 4 PM. In fact, it’s 4:45 AM. I think this is the second time I went online before going to school - in the wee hours of the morning. I have to start my day with a little spice!

Right now I’m on Tumblr (always part of my to-do list when online) and reblogging photos. Here’s one I truly love:

If you think you’ll never find the right person because it seems like all the hot people are taken, think again. The person who deserves you so much isn’t arriving yet in your life, so have a little patience. Like the fortune cookies says, someone loves you out there. You just don’t know it yet.
I just found this cool Veronicas wallpaper on the Net and I’m thinking of making this as my main desktop:

And before I leave, I just found something:

The ugly truth

I’m just sick of being called ugly.

I am part of the 304 girls in the batch where lots of them are gorgeous as hell. When I say “gorgeous”, it means being as thin as a supermodel, well-endowed, looks like a celebrity, wears fashionable clothes, and has lots of suitors even they’re not even that smart. Oh yes, she also belongs to the most dominant clique in the batch. Privileges I never had in my life I want to have before I become a college freshman.

Why am I telling this? I’ll always look at photos of some schoolmates and wish I had their faces. I would wish I was as thin as them. Okay, here comes Candice the chubby-cheeked, eyeglass-wearing gal. I want to wear contacts because I don’t want to look too dorky with my specs, but my parents won’t allow me to. They think they’re dangerous for me. Come on. I just want them.

The point is, everytime I pass around the corridors, some would hurl about my looks. They’ll always tell me how ugly I am. They’ll say, “You look like a wart”, “No guy will like you because you’re fat and ugly”, “Every girl in the school is way prettier than you”, and such other hurtful comments. Some will even compare me to our batch’s “Beautiful People” (whoever they are) and say I’m no match for them. You know what? Because of those comments, my desire to be good-looking toppled to the extreme. I developed an interest in fashion and started wearing face powder to school. I admired classic beauties. I began to build up my self-confidence through my talents.

But still, it wasn’t enough. All I want to hear is a compliment on how beautiful I am. I think there are lots of people out there who are ashamed to say that in front of my face. That’s the way the universe works. People are just too shy to say anything good about you sometimes. Well at least, I appreciate the compliments I get from my parents, relatives, friends, classmates, teachers, and online buddies who’ve seen my photos. I wish there are more people who’ll do that someday. Wishes?

I wish I was thin….but I’ll never be one since I’m big-boned.

Tomorrow will be a trip to CS Garments for our PALIHAN and I need to get some sleep. Next week is definitely a busy week for me! :)

The mud and rocks adventure

November 20 was our outbound. I tell you, it’s the best outbound I’ve had so far since First Year! This is the first time I went on a muddy and rocky adventure without tripping or slipping on anything. In other words, I was safe throughout the outbound! Rafting was the coolest thing I’ve ever tried. I was one of the first people to try it out in our class. While we stood on the bamboo floater, our facilitator instructed us on how to get the pH level of the lake. All you have to do is use a thermometer-like instrument then wait for about a minute to see the result. After the measurement, all of us went down the floater and swam! Shortly after the rafting, we went to the other side of the lake where we played swimming games with our classmates. What I didn’t like about the outbound was when we have to climb up and down the rocky stairs just to plant a tree. Can you believe it? We have to pass 150+ other junior on the way down? Overall, it was a great day.

Nothing is truly impossible in life, right? Over the past months, I’ve been bitter over my Chemistry class. It’s not that I hate our teacher/adviser (in fact I praise Ms. G for her excellent teaching). I just get frustrated of not getting a perfect score there. I would feel bitter when I will see my classmates’ scores for that they’ve reached the jackpot. I wished for myself that someday I’ll get what I want. So last Wednesday, everything came to a head. A few minutes later…

I hit my very own jackpot.

My efforts were no longer in vain. I deserved to get a perfect score!

Have I told you about New Moon? It was wayyyy more awesome than Twilight. It followed the novel more closely, except for the ending. Edward just said “Marry me” and the credits rolled. Whoa! Anyways, I like Jacob Black better than Edward Cullen. My mom even switched from Team Edward to Team Jacob after seeing Jacob’s chiseled, drool-worthy abs. Plus, Taylor Lautner has great complexion.

I recommend you watching this, people! It’s worth the money!

11.21.2009

Come on baby we ain't gonna live forever

Have you ever seen The Veronicas’ UK version of 4Ever? I am currently listening to it right now and it’s the best version so far. The song was released four years ago and there were two versions of the music video prior to the most recent one. Here is the UK version:

I am about to dress up for Robinsons Midtown because I am going to watch New Moon. I heard it’s the highest-grossing movie in midnight sales now, surpassing Harry Potter 6 and The Dark Knight. Outbound was great, especially rafting for the first time! But I’ll tell more about it soon. BTW, did you like my new blogskin? I edited some of it and added a background. The title was inspired by Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance which I’m LSS-ed right now.

11.16.2009

I gotta feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night

I just learned from Ms. C today at dismissal time that I got a perfect score in this morning’s English quiz on modifiers. Woo woo, you know it!!!!

I can’t install Adobe Photoshop CS3. Dammit. Why do we need some authorization code to make it a full version?

One less lonely girl

One word to a describe last Friday and Saturday’s retreat: a disaster.

I just didn’t enjoy the retreat which was supposed to be fun. I was even excited about it the day before. I couldn’t sleep the night before. And when the time for the retreat came, it just didn’t happen. Do you think it was meant to happen because it was Friday the 13th? So we arrived at St. Michael’s Retreat House at around 2 pm where we were met with the shocking news: we have to be arranged by class numbers for our room assignments. Most of us were just disappointed.

The sessions were okay - we made mandallas made up of the four elements and wrote something on our Barbie journals. All of us have to go to confession before we go to sleep. There was only one priest and we were 52 students in there. The confession was reported to end at 2 am and I was asleep by that time. After my confession, I arrived at my room and we had a little chit-chat. 1 am was bedtime and we woke up at 5:30.

I have to say that the worst part was yesterday’s breakfast and lunch. Some person just offended me and because I shot her back, she left the table. I’m not even “feeling close” - I just want to make friends with my classmates. You don’t need to be invited by someone to join the table. So what? It just bothered me the rest of the trip back home. On the bus, I just told my story to a friend and gave me some good advice. When we got back to STC, mom was already there and immediately told her how horrible the retreat went. We went to Robinsons Midtown to cap our day off. There I bought a Baby-sitters Club book - I haven’t bought one in a year. I’m coming to the point when Stacey lied to all of her friends and to her dad because she didn’t tell them that her boyfriend’s family will be vacationing in Fire Island.

Lately I’ve been experiencing hell, since it was November. I don’t know why I’m cursed to have a bad month in November because it had been running since 2005. I just hate it. Now sometimes I eat lunch alone or just go to the Guidance Office to tell about my problems. School is all about the pressure. I feel something different about my classmates lately. I just feel so miserable right now. I wish everything will go back to the way it used to be.

Hurricane Streets

This kid above is so cute! I just love the way he imitated MJ’s This Is It pose. I also reblogged it on my Tumblr. I watched the documentary of his must-have-been last concert and I and mom had a really great time. Michael Jackson was not only an energetic performer during his rehearsals but also he was kind to his backup dancers, singers, and the other members of the crew. I was so touched when he kept on saying how much he loves them and that they are blessed. It was so sad to know that the concert never happened because the graphics which were supposed to be used there were totally out of this world! My favorites were for Thriller and the song where they used some 30’s style thing. I just love it.

Speaking of my sembreak, I had a great time on Sembreak Friday when
I went to Elai’s house to have some chit chat. We talked about almost everything, played Showtime, swapped secrets, and just made the fool out of ourselves. We wanted to do a camwhoring session but since I forgot the memory card of my phone, we just stuck to doing the alternatives. And the Internet? I just spent hours and hours there, browsing blogs, discovering Tumblr, and I downloaded Amelie on my PSP. I’m not yet done watching Amelie but I’m enjoying it so far. It’s such an enchanting story of how a girl discovers an antique which will change her life from that day.

My cousins went to my lola’s place on All Saints’ Day and here are some photos from my uncle’s cam to share here:

Abby and Reese, after the Linggo ng Wika Celebration

Popeye! I just miss watching it. I think that’s my old bag. :)

A view of their school

Borrowed my uncle’s cam

And now we do it like this.

I'll Be Right Back.

I’ll be right back with a long post by the end of the weekend. Just some quick updates:

-Someone’s pissing me off right now.
-I just joined STC’s Gawad Teresa essay-writing competition last Tuesday and was sleepy during the seminar. We only watched half of Michael Jackson’s “Black or White” MV because it suddenly stopped in the middle of the vid.
-I’m addicted to Tumblr, but I’ll still be sticking to Blogspot. I like it more than I like FB.
-I don’t open rainbowdoll.m.com anymore because it’s boring as hell.
-I’ll be playing chess for intrams. AGAIN!

10.28.2009

Tumblr!

Currently trying out Tumblr for the nth time. I’ll post the link soon. :)

10.24.2009

Two words: EPIC FAIL.

The perfect demotivational poster.

Double the pressure, double the fun

Blair: Squash? I’ll squash YOU.
Chuck: It’s just a game, Blair.
Blair: Not to me, Basshole. I like him!

I have to watch Gossip Girl Season 3! I just miss the show but I have no time to watch it these days. Busy with schoolwork and everything. I had a fun and busy week, especially with the days leading to today’s Dance Pro. Let me share some great things that happened for the past few days.

Last Tuesday, Elai joined me on the way home where I was fetched by my tita coming from her work nearby STC. We had a great time chatting about everything while we waited for tita and in the jeep. In fact, I’m going to her house sometime this sembreak and have a little more fun! The rehearsals were so tiring that both of my legs ache and so do my shoulders. I have a hard time walking because of that. Last Thursday I went home at around 6 pm to finish our dance and ate at McDo Retiro afterwards. What a way to end a tiring day!

So as I said, today was our Dance Pro. Right now in STC I guess the Bamboo concert (with Hale!) has just ended. It was really sunny so I thank God for giving us this fine weather today on Family Day. My classmates had a hard time curling my hair because my hair is very straight and they think it’s gorgeous. (Thank you very much!) But before going to STC, I and my mom ate breakfast at the nearest Jollibee store then bought a special edition Theresian shirt in Gate 3. I’ll show to you here my shirt soon! At 11 am, I and my mom left school to go to McDo, get a Coke Float, then go to Divisoria. I bought another shirt with a robotic design and downloaded the latest WWE Smackdown! vs. RAW game. Guess what? I already upgraded my PSP to the latest version so there was a problem with the downloading process and the main reason it took longer than expected. So far, I LOVE THE GAME! The only glitch was that not all features from PS3 were included in the PSP version. But that’s okay, I’m enjoying the Create A Storyline mode!

Sembreak plans? I have to think yet.

10.23.2009

Let's dance to the beat

Tomorrow’s our Dance Production. I wish everyone good luck!

Right now I have bruises on my legs and my thighs are aching. But the rehearsals were worth the smart marks. Just a little update! :)

If only tears were laughter...

No matter what they call us
However they attack

No matter where they take us
We’ll find our own way back

It’s so sad to know that my favorite Boyzone member Stephen Gately passed away last October 10. He was only 33 years old.

Stephen was the first singer I’ve gone crazy for. Back in 1998, at the peak of the boyband domination, Boyzone’s music captivated me. Then one of the members suddenly caught my attention with his charming smile, petite structure, and oozing vocals. Stephen stole the spotlight when it comes to their music videos. Back when I was a big fan of theirs, I had a videotape full of Boyzone’s music videos and concerts. Up to this day, I have their Greatest Hits album. Now I have to listen to their songs all over again.

Last week I caught a blog entry where she was talking about Stephen. I wondered, “It sounds familiar but I can’t remember who he is.” Then it was reported on TV and it was confirmed. The first singer to make me go crazy was dead. I read various Internet articles about him and I learned he battled depression for two years from 2000-2002. I don’t care if he’s controversial. What matters to me is that Stephen Gately’s a talented singer with the grace factor. May he rest in peace.

I haven’t seen this video of “A Different Beat” for a long time, so I got the chance today to check this out on YouTube. Here it is, a very inspiring MV to watch.

The REAL Monster Ball Poster, starring The Haus of Gaga.

10.04.2009

Update update update.

I deleted last Friday’s post. I decided that it’s not appropriate to do that.

Anyways, today’s the end of our “typhoon sembreak”. Tomorrow I’ll be going back to school and will be seeing all of my friends and classmates. The consequence? No more sembreak. Now we all have to go back to school after Family Day weekend. Not enough time to rest during Halloween and All Saints / Souls Day.

I haven’t shared about our PALIHAN on the day Ondoy came. It was fun to teach the kids all about environment. Lots of pictures and free time since we arrived an hour before lunchtime. Bee Movie was entertaining to watch, compared to Ant Bully (which I fell asleep on during a previous PALIHAN session). However, I didn’t feel like it that day since I had so many problems in mind. No joke.

The bright side of my “sembreak”? I and Mom got to watch Yaya and Angelina’s movie last Tuesday. AND IT WAS HILARIOUS! I really laughed out during the part where Angelina called “her” principal as “Prince-epal”. The scene where Yaya tried to save the fish by doing a mouth-to-mouth routine after the fish choked a ball was totally funny. It was ironic to see that by the time the fish bounced back to life, it was killed immediately through a falling lampshade. Result? Yaya was fired.

I just can’t wait to go back to school!

10.03.2009

History Repeats Itself?

leadthefield: ithinkaboutyoueverydaay: jihancustodio: (via sikatsikat) Ondoy is the next biggest thing after Milenyo.

The flood was knee-high, especially in the most unexpected places. No electricity and water for almost a day. Let us pray and help the victims of typhoon Ondoy.

You got me.

Hell week is up! We’ve got lots of quizzes and homework galore. And it sucks. Makes me want to include this in FML. “This week it’s hell. FML!” Anyways, the interaction with the Claretians was totally awesome! Aside from the fact that everyone had a great time, I was assigned for the opening prayer and the Claretians were fun to be with. Their class presentation on “balut” was totally hilarious with the scenario in different emotions. My classmates were amazing in their dance presentation, making us go wild! Then there were the pictures, lots of memories!

We gave the Claretians a customized tumbler made by a creative batchmate and they gave us a baller ID. I really enjoyed the interaction more than I enjoyed last year’s. Off-topic, we’ve got HELL WEEK ahead of us.

Good luck to our brains.

But the one thing I wish I'd forget the memory I wanna forget

It’s already about 10 in the evening and still I can’t sleep. I finally got back our Internet connection so I was able to surf only after I finished studying and doing my homework. Tomorrow’s our interaction with the Claretians and I’m so excited about it! However, I just read a classmate’s blog that she just called it “quits” a few days ago. I feel sorry about her and now I’m thinking about the situation.

Being in a relationship can make you feel like you’re in wonderland. You are at the time of your life when you are so in love with someone who loves you back. There goes the sweet text messages, movie dates, holding hands, and celebrating your monthsary. Then there’s someone who’ll say “I love you” before you go to sleep and tell you everyday how beautiful you are. You find yourself writing romantic quotes and listening to “your” song.

And it happens: the two of you calling it quits.

Breaking up is so painful. You throw away all of the memories you’ve shared together, including the teddy bear he gave you on your first monthsary. You erase his cellphone number on your phone memory. You hate him so much you want him to be your punching bag. It hurts. It stinks. It takes a while before you become yourself again. You turn to your friends and cry. A few days later, you realize how much you missed when you were still single.

Do you know what I mean? The joys and perks of a relationship.

You could call me six times but still I won't pick up the phone

I’ve been online for hours already. Had a great time chatting with Dad. Currently listening to The Veronicas’ “Secret”. The catchiest lines from the song:

“I never looked at you that way
Cause I always thought you were gay”

OMG. So love this. What did I do today? I browsed on Facebuko and Tumblr for photos. Happy to say, I found something. Like these:

Piolo wants Sam Milby. Without him, life is never complete. WIN!

Can you believe this crap? A guy was killed because he didn’t know the song “Nobody”? This is the biggest fail I’ve ever heard. Do you know that song? I you know someone who doesn’t know this, don’t kill the person!

Demi and Selena vs. Miley, Mean Girls style.

Big-time UAAP blastoff. Do you know what it means? Haha!

Candice, Simpsonized.

Hello, It's The Queen Bee.

I’m not in school today. Reason? Yesterday we were asked to do forward and backward rolls for gymnastics in PE class. I can somehow do a backward roll but not forward. Anyways, my neck and arms hurt right now. I just hope the pains are gone by tomorrow. Right now I just replied to my Dad’s offline messages. My classmate thinks he looks like a movie star. No joke!

I just browsed a Tumblr site dedicated to Leighton Meester. I sooooo love her. I just found this very awesome pic of h
ers. She still looks good even if she wears glasses. Check it out!

Or how about this collage of GG?

One reason to love Tumblr. But still I’ll be sticking to Blogspot!

Bad Day.

Classes were suspended! It’s a good thing since my day sucked bigtime.

There were only two good things today apart from the suspension: getting photo comments on FB and the Dance Pro rehearsals. So excited for it. Speaking of the photo comments, I can’t believe I got comments from girls who weren’t even from my class. But I’d like to thank everyone for putting a smile on my face!

By the way, I just read Dad’s offline message. I was so touched with it. Lesson? Don’t be bitter when you lose.

Not Enough?

Am I the world’s biggest loser?

I just read on Candymag.com that they already conducted interviews on 15 girls for the Candy Council of Cool 10. And they hadn’t even contacted me unlike last year.

That means I’m of zero talent. I may have made Theresian Magazine, yes, but it’s not enough. I JUST NEED THIS TO PROVE EVERYONE THAT I’M GOOD ENOUGH. I guess you’re all thinking, “Everyone will trade their souls to be writers of the school paper. Consider yourself lucky you made it.”

I don’t care about it. All my writing talent has gone to the wastebin. Rejected in my favorite magazine for 2 consecutive years. I don’t care if I get perfect scores in my essays in school and teachers praise my work. I got rejected in every writing competition I joined: COC, Manila Times. What’s next? Join next year then fail again? Dammit.

One reason why I should have been better in Math than in English. Everyone I know is good in Math. I hardly know anyone whose interest is creative writing. I was very happy when I found out I got in to Theresian Mag. That’s already a blessing. Rejected in my favorite magazine for the second time is very humiliating. Biruin mo, staffer ng school paper niyo hindi makapasok sa COC?

I only have one more chance: the Reader’s Digest Asia Short Story Writing Competiion. If I don’t make this, I’ll be labeled as LOSER.

Facebuko Is ♥.

ILY, Facebuko. You make me laugh!

Outjam!

Yesterday’s Outjam concert for all Convergys Makati employees and their families was a blast! Kamikazee and Parokya Ni Edgar did a fantastic job in entertaining the crowd; they even cracked jokes in the middle of their performances. Araneta Coliseum had lots of concession stands, particularly Snaxx, Wendy’s, etc. Too bad I wasn’t able to eat Dairy Queen although I want to try their upside down beverages! We sat at Upper Box A and it was a nice view there. Too bad the camera phone got jammed around 15 minutes before the concert ended! But at least I took photos of it. There were balloons galore!

Smile for the camera with the balloons!!!

Balloons!!! Pink lighting!!

Parokya performing onstage

Did I tell you some sweet guy proposed to her girlfriend onstage in the middle of Parokya’s performance? =)
