Good News With Thesis

It’s been two weeks late (yeah I know lots of stuff to do) but I’m proud to bear the good news that my topic proposal for thesis has been finally approved last October 16! The best part is, I was not asked to defend as three out of four panelists have approved my concept beforehand. The only one who gave me the verdict of “defend” was Dr. Diaz, but other than that I’m truly blessed to see the fruit of all my efforts to improve my thesis topic.

A week before the second reading, I was in shambles. There wasn’t a single word typewritten in front of my laptop’s screen. My mind was point blank of interesting, crisp ideas. My future, whether to graduate next year along with the rest of my Comm Arts batchmates or extend for another term, was in doubt. I wanted to quit and drop the course altogether because I couldn’t get it together. I wanted to get off the monkey off my back but it was stuck with me.

Then I was enlightened by my family, friends, my mentor Sir Doy, and God to not surrender and continue with what I’ve started. Besides, I’ve taken so many sacrifices and hardships just to get where I am right now. Moreover, not everyone has been given the opportunity to be part of the University’s most renowned degree programs. So I said to myself as I was writing the final draft of my topic proposal, “I’m a few steps away from fulfilling my lifelong dream, so why give it up now?"

On October 13, before my PRODUCE class, I left five copies of my proposal in Sir Doy’s pigeon hole.

Three days later, I finally got the yes I always wanted to hear.

I cannot wait for my final term beginning in January of next year. I am almost there.
