September and October in Photos
These photos encapsulate how amazing the past two months have been (especially October), from friends to family to school life. There were two weeks that have been quite rough for me but it doesn’t take away the fact life has been a lot better than I expected.
Speaking of extracurriculars, I’m enjoying my time between Green & White and the production internship for Dr. Tullao’s lecture series. I’m glad I’ve met a lot of friends along the way aside from doing the best I could do in my responsibilities. Thank goodness for those opportunities; my time is not wasted by bumming around which I don’t like to do so at all.
Without further ado, let me tell you the story behind those photos:
1: Borg’s is one of the newly-opened restaurants inside Archers, and it does not disappoint. Their chicken fillet with mushroom gravy is delicious although the java rice is a little bit too small for my appetite. I’d love to go back there and try their other delicacies soon!
2. Monzie’s mom got free tickets to a PBA exhibition game between the San Miguel Beermen and the Meralco Bolts at the Blue Eagle Gym. Whoa! On the way to Katipunan, Monzie and I were joking about wearing a DLSU shirt inside the campus which prompted us to think of a scenario in which a bunch of students catch us in our green-friendly gear. The game was intense itself, ending in a tie between the two teams. The fun part was seeing the players in person. No photos with them though because the place was crowded and the players were gassed out by the time the game ended :( Either way, we were able to see a clean-shaven Simon Atkins, Coach Norman Black, and Chris Newsome in person! Additionally, the experience of going to an archrival’s gym was fun.
3. After the exhibition game, we were invited to a dinner at Kenny Rogers. Yay for food galore! Chicken and veggies aside, this brownie ala mode was heaven in my taste buds.
4-5. The last time I went to STC was in September 2011 when I reunited with IV-3 and my batchmates to claim our high school yearbooks. Yesterday I returned to my beloved alma mater for Family Day to not only watch Monzie’s niece in the GS field demonstration but also to reunite with my old friends and teachers. Walking through the corridors, greeting people I haven’t seen in three years, and basking in the sunshine illuminating the lawns of the campus made me feel like I’m sixteen again.
6. Shoutout to Mariae for tagging me and Marga into bringing us to throwback land on Instagram! That was our logo for We Ala Kings, a brand we made for our feasibility project in TLE back in senior year. I was the one who made the tagline hihi :“>
7. Tita Badet came home from her visit in Singapore to these tops my mom bought for me. Lovin’ the printed tee from Esprit and the kitty crop top from H&M! Well speaking of H&M, I have yet to visit a newly-opened branch of theirs here in Manila lol.
8. Monzie and April aka my "thesismates”! Haha! I may be working alone but I enjoy bonding times with these two. They’ll be doing a documentary in Bataan while I’ll work on a screenplay like I’ve always wanted to do. <3
9. Meals with friends = one of the things that make me happy.
As for life lately:
- Please don’t let Justin Bieber sing “All About That Bass” again. EVER.
- Sana Dati, The Notebook and The Normal Heart = tearjerkers
- Is it just me, or does Annabelle look like Glen from Seed of Chucky?
- I missed eating BBQ. Thanks to this food stall during Family Day, there was a feast of isaw, pork ears, and bituka. Cheap thrills rule.
- I know it’s early in the season but fans should stop overreacting with every win or loss. It’s just October. So Islanders fans, stop acting like you’ve won the Cup. Blues, you can still make the playoffs in April. To the Penguins, #DontTradeFleury, #DontFireEveryone and #BringBackBylsma when you lose.
- I might start watching How To Get Away With Murder after watching an episode in the office. There goes my list of movies and TV shows to watch!
- I don’t use iTunes anymore to be honest because Spotify is making music so much convenient for me. Also, I don’t have to spend my entire memory with songs when I could stream them online.
- I can’t wait to watch Blue Is The Warmest Color.
- November’s gonna be one hell of a busy month.
Gonna be blogging about some good news next post. Stay tuned.
