"My Heart Is For Heart"

I’m laughing about this video about Echo who seemed “shocked” about Heart breaking up with her. TH ata siya mag-English as the people who commented say. Is that real? Watch the video and be the judge.

A Year of Being A Teentalker

I’d like to present to you my self-made 1st birthday banner as a Teentalker.

I woke up this morning to realize that tomorrow will be my first birthday as a Teentalker. I kept on realizing that time has gone so fast: it was just May 31 at around 11 am last year when I first caught a glimpse of Teentalk and signed up. I’ve also tried my luck of making new friends through joining the Total Girl board but it didn’t work because after a few posts I became inactive. The word “inactive” used to be my frequent status as a Talker when I was clueless about when to post a new topic (I soon learned that you have to reach 15 posts or the “sugar drops” status to make one), what to say on the featured topic, and how to introduce yourself to other Teentalkers who will be your future online buddies. Did you know that from June-October I rarely ever posted there? I had around 10 posts by October, but miraculously I raised my rank to “sugar drops” on December! It was because of Who’s Who, the place where you will make a thread to introduce yourself and find friends who have the same interests as you. I was a shy Teentalker before: once I posted in someone’s thread asking if we could be buddies, I would wait for her reply and never come back. I then thought that doing that won’t make you any true cyberfriends. You might be the subject when others talk about people who introduce then never return.

Summer vacation rolled around. All the blessings of being a Teentalker began to pour like falling rain. I kept on posting on Friendship and TV Talk. My rank reached up to jellybean before the end of March but by the time I had my 100th post I received my first boo. I’ve blogged about this around March, so check that month’s archive to read how sad I was. Beating out my sadness, I posted more on these two forums. Then there came the COPIED clan. I joined there and made lots of new friends. I even became their second founder! Although the clan is not as active as now, I became part of the Crazy Club. To tell you this, I loved it there! More friends were made and I was happy there. It was one of the first times I enjoyed chatting with cyberbuds where we could link exchange in blogs and add each other in our online accounts. As of now I enjoy posting in Who’s Who where I met more wonderful friends and learned a lot of lessons. And yesterday, I am officially a taffy! Being an active poster and a friendly person made me reach this far. So as my first Teentalk year has gone by, I am going to post 10 lessons that I’ve learned there.

1. Don’t judge a person by its username/avatar. Personal info is one way to hide our true identity, that’s why we make up creative usernames. Sometimes our username is “meangirl” but that doesn’t mean that person really is mean. Joining clans or making friends in Who’s Who is an opportunity to learn that we should not hate a person only because of his/her avatar or siggie. They might be your closest friends too!

2. Teentalk is a place not only to have fun but also to respect each other’s opinions.
That’s the purpose of karma functions: yay a person if you like his/her opinion and boo if you disagree. Unfortunately, some booers do that for immature reasons.

3. Never, ever abuse one’s freedom.
Similar to #2.

4. When you make friends in Who’s Who, always remember to drop by their thread and say hi.
I’ve been doing that lately. My technique is to go to “Show replies to your posts” and drop by to the threads I’ve posted in. If before I’ll just say “Hello, friends?” and never come back, now I go to their threads everytime I log in to Teentalk.

5. It’s a place where you meet people who share with you the same interests. PBB fever, Samsters, J. Bros fans, Callalistas, Robilievers, fans galore! Be free to say in your interested topic, “I ♥ this!”

6. Give advice to teens who have problems. Lovelife, Homebound, Friendship, and You Go, Candy Girl! are places to seek and give advice. Time to reach out a helping hand!

7. Share some stories…but not the personal ones. Laugh and cry with the Teentalkers with your stories. Just don’t post the stories that you want to keep it to yourself.

8. Link exchanges are welcome! Long live tagging and bloghopping! That’s why lots of Teentalkers are posting their blogs, Friendsters, Multiply pages, and Deviantarts in their siggies or website icons. How about getting to know a Talker first, bloghop, and link exchanging? This will be the sure way to keep in touch.

9. What you are in the online world can reflect your real personality.

And most of all….
10. HAVE FUN! Enjoy posting in each others’ threads, share the same interests, and enjoy!

THE VACATION is OVER!

So there you have it….the Cookie won American Idol. I’m not really an AI fan but watching the historic “Battle of the Davids” in last Thursday’s top-rating finale was worth watching it. 94 million votes across the US (this puts the presidential elections to shame) breaks the record for the finale with the most counted votes, previously made by Season 4 I think. It was sunny-rainy when I watched both the live finale and the replay that night a week ago from today. There came the surprises: Simon apologizing to the Cookie for putting Archie over him during the previous night’s last performance, the J.Bros, and the Filipino auditionee who sang his famous “I Am Your Brother” complete with the marching band. It is surprising to know that on one Sunday, my tita got a copy of the Philippine Star where I got to read the article about him. He was a former tricycle driver and now he’s advertising two commercials from AT&T. Reynaldo and Ramiele should be part of the Best of 2008 because these two Idols gave great pride to our country!

I’m happy to hear that the Cookie won and have 17 songs on the Top 200 Digital Downloads, and so is Archie. Fans during the finale put up signs such as “Archie, take me to the prom”, “Archie, I’ll be your Veronica!”
I thought he’ll emerge as the victor with the millions of girls swooning for him, but the upset came when Seacrest announced, “The winner of American Idol 2008 is David…..Cook!” At least Archie got the same opportunities Cook got: he also has some of his recordings charting on the top 200 downloads. And showbiz life? Hmm…I suggest they should better take singing instead.

About the “My Girl” Philippine remake. WHY DID THEY TURNED THE ORIGINAL STORYLINE UPSIDE DOWN??? The original wasn’t dramatic. Sorry to say, but I never dared to watch it. I’m sick of Kimerald’s overratedness, Kim’s OA acting, and the story was far from the Korean hit series. The only good thing about that show is that this could be the start of Enchong and Nina’s (the ones who play the supporting roles) push as celebs. Actually, I’m proud that they’re getting more opportunities to show their underrated talent. So that’s all that I could say about it. End of story!

My 3-day “no Internet” vacation was kinda boring but at least I’m getting into good shape. Here is what my lunch plan went on during those days:

Monday: shrimp breaded in egg.
Tuesday: adobong kangkong and fried bangus.
Wednesday: chicken tinola.

You’re on a healthy diet all right. There’s this weird thing that I heard just a few minutes ago on the radio. Cellphones can actually cook chicken eggs!!!!!!!! I dunno if it’s true….let’s wait for someone to experiment this and show it off to the world. Haha!

5.25.2008

ON VACATION.

I’ll be out for 4 DAYS. No Internet for four, gloomy, days.

I’m gonna be back on Friday!

Let It Enroll

I just enrolled in STC today. On the way to school the first thought that came to my mind was, “Who disappeared in our class?” which was always my biggest fear whenever I enroll for the incoming school year. It was also my Judgment Day: who among the 55 girls that I’ve bonded will no longer be my classmate and March 13, 2008 is my last time to see her? That was so sad, so teary. It’s hurting to know that some of the people who became part of your melodramatic life for 9 months will leave your school. But you’ve got the Friendsters, cell numbers, and the visits to see them. They’re simple ways to keep in touch even through distance.

My heart was pumping fast when I approached the school gates. Enrollment has gone smoothly: we paid the tuition, bought the school supplies, everything else. But what didn’t gone smoothly was the enrollment list. Since we are re-shuffled only every two years, I am still Section 2 and they’re still my classmates. I was hoping that my friends will still be my classmates and so my other peers. But it wasn’t as I expected. Out of 55, we are now down to 46. The said number is because although I’m still part of this great section, I was not listed in the enrollment list! But the lists were “tentative” meaning it’s the unofficial list of enrollees. The problem was solved: we informed about it to the registrar and now I’m #47!

I didn’t know what happened to my 8 missing classmates. Obviously one is already in Canada and no one in our batch retained her freshman year. It was sad to see that their names are not on the “tentative” list of students of Second Year Section Two. I know it’s temporary, some of them are just like what I experienced. So in the meantime our class is 47 and the number might change when we return to school new and improved in less than three weeks!!

About the bad news: my chain of nightmares might have happened. If you could read my previous post about my classmate who was transferred to Section 4 only because of her looks, this one was worse. She was one of the people not listed in the II-2 class. We don’t know what will happen next. Just stay tuned on the next chapter!

5.15.2008

No. Another Class Nightmare.

I’m getting a series of school nightmares every week. First, two of my classmates ignoring me at a certain store. Then I saw my friends at 7-Eleven during a “class reunion” but they ignored me too. Last week I got a horrible dream once again. I was at this non-existent mall wandering around when I chased my four friends who were then holding a suitcase and running down the flight of stairs. Unfortunately, they said that they’re going to a vacation without me. My heart sank deeply and just walked around the mall sadly.

Then the chain of nightmares continued last night in between the comfort of sleeping in cold air. Classes started that time. I went to the HS Covered Court to line up for the opening of classes. I saw my friend and I said sorry for what happened during the summer. Asking about the experience of watching the “recently ended” concert of the Click Five (in reality it’ll be on May 30), she told me how it went. My other friends came there too and I followed them outside so we can head back to the classroom. And while on the way, the strange occurence happened.

I noticed that one of my new friends wasn’t there. I asked where was she, but one of my friends said she was curious too. When I popped out the question, my friend was lining up…in another section. Fast forward I was in the classroom and sitting in our final sitting arrangement of our past freshman year. A classmate was asking why my friend wasn’t in the classroom. Our adviser said the shocking words,

“We’re sorry, but because of her performance she was transferred to another section.”

Our class cried as soon as she gave the announcement. The worse part came when I read a school-related “magazine” and came across the article about our classmate. It read:

This girl was transferred to Section 4 because not only because of her class standing, but also she looked like an American.

WTH? In real life it will never happen. A student transferred to another section only because she looked like an American? That would be ridiculous.

But I sincerely hope that when I look at the enrollment list of our class next week, the series of nightmares will be nothing. Although one of our classmates will be going to Canada this month, I hope that our class is still complete. That would end the chain of bad dreams!

Mom's Tribute

Tomorrow’s Mother’s Day! Although I don’t have money to buy a gift, I just made a tribute using Photoshop instead. It’s digiscrapped using the kits I’ve downloaded from Shabby Princess and I made a collage with personal text. I’m going to upload it soon on my Friendster and Multiply so watch out! Here’s a preview:

I had this weird dream last night. A celeb died! WTH? I am not sure about the celeb’s name but he died in my dreams. I dunno why weird dreams keep on haunting me during the whole summer. First, my friends and classmates ignoring me. Now, a celeb deceased! Hmm….I guess I should consult a fortune-teller.

What's Happening to the World???

McMahon’s head has officially gone insane.

He should have released those who cannot wrestle. But why did they release a superstar who is very loyal to the company only because of a back injury? I still like wrestling but his head might have flown to the moon. Plus, there’s a scandal regarding a Diva. Then there are the overpushed/overrated Superstars and Divas. Will there be a time when all of the talented ones get fired?

If you’re a wrestling fan, go to WWE.com and see for yourself about the horrid injustice I’m talking about. Now for the lighter side: I’ve added the Lunatic Forum link on the Links section because I just signed up there yesterday. Good to say, I’M LOVING IT! Most of the members are also Teentalkers and it’s so much fun being there. When I made my thread, within 2 minutes three replies came! Motto? I’ll be a Lunatic forever! Hahaha!

Bye ASTIGS :(

I just received major bad news last night, courtesy of Tita Badette.

Guess.

If you said that there was a tragedy, it was. But if you said it’s personal, that’s incorrect.

If you said that a show will end, you’re correct.

And that’s the news. One of my favorite shows will finally end this Saturday.

So here it goes………….

STAR MAGIC’S ASTIGS WILL HAVE THEIR SERIES FINALE!!!!!!!

Oh no please. I haven’t watched the episodes during the past weeks because the storyline seemed boring. Although I only watch it because of Martin (haha), there is one of the characters who is the reason why I don’t want to watch it sometimes. I find her a bit….overexposed. She got to pair with all of the teen heartthrobs and she’s got more endorsements than any of the other celebs. To tell you the truth, I was happy when she didn’t get in GKNB? where Martin got into the top 3 (yippee!) and was irritated to the fact her looks are a bit overrated. Hello! There are many more celebs who are more talented and prettier than her.

I am sad to see the show leave because that’s what made them stars. Plea to ABS: give Martin more projects! I want to see him in teenage heartthrob status and get more famous than Kimerald(
) , just like what AJ and Dino have already achieved. So I wish the three of them and the rest of the ASTIGS cast good luck. You made us fans happy!

Blogging Kills: Stars Are Not Perfect!

I just found this post from a blog somewhere on the Web. It’s actually a post from the Showbiz and Style Blog of Inquirer.Net and it talks about the dangers of blog backfiring. So here is the post, credits to the website.

Yes, blogs can ruin your life

MANILA, Philippines—The Internet-savvy should think of the past few weeks as more than just a hate fest and a gossip buffet. It is a wake-up call—and a testament to the true powers of blogging.

After countless names have been thrown around the World Wide Web and smeared with nastiness, many have expressed fear about people blogging about them.

But the truth is, you should be concerned not only with what others post about you. You should also be careful about what you post about yourself.

Blog backfire

Twenty-two-year-old Lisa called in sick one Friday afternoon. But she wasn’t really sick. She was planning to start the weekend early by going to the beach with her friends. Days later, she posted pictures of the outing on her blog. Someone in her office found the link. Soon, she was called to her boss’ office. She didn’t lose her job, but she got into a lot of trouble.

Eighteen-year-old Anne enjoys an independent life. Both parents are in the US. She blogged freely about her misadventures—drunken nights out, failed tests, her penchant for bad boys. She thought her blog was being read only by her friends.

But a concerned relative sent the link to her parents who immediately jumped to action, calling Anne up and threatening to fly her to the US where she could be put under their watch. Anne is still in the country but has deleted her blog.

The two girls have experienced blog backfire. Things they posted online ended up working against them.

Make sure it doesn’t happen to you, too. Here are some things to think about when you blog.

1. You don’t know who is reading your page.

Unless your entries are locked and you have total control over who has access to them, you’re never sure who is reading your entries. Your parents, your teachers—they’re all just a google search away from unlocking your deepest thoughts.

2. What you post can make or break your career.

While some people have gotten book deals after building a huge blog readership, most bloggers need to realize that employers have started using Google searches as a tool to scan job applicants.

3. Will your post hurt anyone?

It is easy to vent online your anger with a friend or a family member. But let the anger simmer before hitting the “publish” button. Sleep on it, think it over because once it’s online, it will not be easy to get rid of—not with the cache features of online searches.

4. Can your entries be lifted and used against you?

Your blog entries may be lifted anytime by anyone who knows how to highlight and press Ctrl and C. Your photos may be stolen as easily and defaced, like some have been on gossip blogs. It may be smart to add javascript that prevents readers from right-clicking on your page. It’s not total protection, but it may save you from the less-techie lurkers.

5. Will your entries attract the wrong kind of people?

Most blog readers are kind. They leave comments, they send you e-mails and sometimes, you even find people you can be friends with. But some of the more popular bloggers have had problems with blog stalkers. High internet traffic is a good thing, but not when it leads to scary encounters.

Hmm…sounds interesting. This serves as a guideling for all of us bloggers: not anything we post is good. Leave alone the blog bashing! And lying to a person could lead you to harm when you post pics on your OJ. The first experience mentioned was a little similar to what happened with our HS teacher (no, I can’t reveal her name but I guess Theresians reading this might know). On February this year, she was absent for two weeks because of an “illness”. But one of the teachers saw her Friendster and BOOM!

THERE SHE POSTED HER PICS FROM BORACAY….which happened during her “illness” period.

The buzz spread quickly all over our school. The teacher who saw the Friendster pics reported to the school admins and the “Boracay hopper” resigned during the last days of February. So off she went. Lesson? Never, ever post pics on your Friendster, Multiply, or MySpace if you have told something to a person such as that you’re sick even if you aren’t. Better yet, tell the truth. This could backfire you in the future. And don’t reveal personal info! You might soon see your windows and there’s a stranger a “visit”.

While browsing that blog entry, I also read the article on the hot YouTube vids. One is about fashionable R&B singer
Rihanna singing “Hero” in her high school talent show. It was regarded as her “worst performance” because of how she sang. Singers were never perfect, even the most popular ones mess up sometimes. You can view it here.

Mind Ramble of the Day: About the Teen Edition

Time has gone fast. One month to go, I’m going back to school, see my friends, and know about the summer buzz. One month to go and the first half of the year is over. Can’t I imagine about how fast time has come? Ha. Two years ago, we’ve seen the debut of this popular reality show we call the PBB Teen Edition. We’ve seen the Big Winner get the loads of projects (call her OVERRATED!!!! ) while some people keep on criticizing her talent and overexposure. But now the second batch has arrived, us viewers are once again watching their moves 24/7 and scratching our heads predicting what will happen next. So for the Mind Ramble of the Day, I will talk about the current season of PBB Teen Edition.

I don’t hate the current season and the others. I watch it for entertainment. In truth, I was never obsessed with the show like I wrote in my profile. I just knew about the pairings, Big Bro’s funny tasks, and the rivalries created inside the house. Why did I choose today’s edition as my topic for MR? It just slipped on my mind why almost every girl in Pinas is crushing on the good-looking guy housemates and how some take their obsession to the next level by crying when their bet gets nominated/evicted. Since I am a member of a popular teen forum online, I have noticed that the PBB thread has reached 300+ pages in the span of one month while one housemate has a fanlisting thread that reached 100+ pages. No probs for me because that housemate is fine for me.

The Teen Edition is made for Filipino teenagers determined to be good examples to the youth. It’s not just the million peso prize or a future celebrity status that will make one a household name. The goal of this edition is to teach teens to do the good and say “no” to evil. But recently, I’ve noticed that it’s becoming more of a popularity contest and not a reality contest. From the beginning, many viewers criticized it as “scripted” especially during a collapse of a seemingly healthy housemate or a fan favorite turned hell to his/her peers. And there are the voters. They pout when their bet gets nominated and those people waste their load voting for their faves. When it doesn’t work, some swear never to watch the show again. About the good-looking ones being saved over the ones who were true to themselves on eviction night: the votes might be the “crush votes”.

Plus, the happenings in the house might have affected the viewers who are really crazed about the show. For example a pairing is introduced while slowly turning on their relationships out of the house. Some will follow their every move, talk about it, and make a uniname although they’re just “best friends” (e.g. Bennifer). Then when they fight or refuse to speak to each other when their stay is over, the flame dies out. Violent reactions are also present to the obsessed fans. And what if the housemates all disappeared on TV one day after their popularity? Only the future can hold.

So that’s just my opinion about the edition. But the question still stands still: is PBB becoming more of a beauty contest than a reality show? You be the judge.

BTW, it’s Labor Day today. Let’s honor all of the workers who sacrificed their time to support us and the whole country. And I can’t believe that I grew an inch last night! Keep on growing, girl.
