So there you have it….the Cookie won American Idol. I’m not really an AI fan but watching the historic “Battle of the Davids” in last Thursday’s top-rating finale was worth watching it. 94 million votes across the US (this puts the presidential elections to shame) breaks the record for the finale with the most counted votes, previously made by Season 4 I think. It was sunny-rainy when I watched both the live finale and the replay that night a week ago from today. There came the surprises: Simon apologizing to the Cookie for putting Archie over him during the previous night’s last performance, the J.Bros, and the Filipino auditionee who sang his famous “I Am Your Brother” complete with the marching band. It is surprising to know that on one Sunday, my tita got a copy of the Philippine Star where I got to read the article about him. He was a former tricycle driver and now he’s advertising two commercials from AT&T. Reynaldo and Ramiele should be part of the Best of 2008 because these two Idols gave great pride to our country!
I’m happy to hear that the Cookie won and have 17 songs on the Top 200 Digital Downloads, and so is Archie. Fans during the finale put up signs such as “Archie, take me to the prom”, “Archie, I’ll be your Veronica!” I thought he’ll emerge as the victor with the millions of girls swooning for him, but the upset came when Seacrest announced, “The winner of American Idol 2008 is David…..Cook!” At least Archie got the same opportunities Cook got: he also has some of his recordings charting on the top 200 downloads. And showbiz life? Hmm…I suggest they should better take singing instead.
About the “My Girl” Philippine remake. WHY DID THEY TURNED THE ORIGINAL STORYLINE UPSIDE DOWN??? The original wasn’t dramatic. Sorry to say, but I never dared to watch it. I’m sick of Kimerald’s overratedness, Kim’s OA acting, and the story was far from the Korean hit series. The only good thing about that show is that this could be the start of Enchong and Nina’s (the ones who play the supporting roles) push as celebs. Actually, I’m proud that they’re getting more opportunities to show their underrated talent. So that’s all that I could say about it. End of story!
My 3-day “no Internet” vacation was kinda boring but at least I’m getting into good shape. Here is what my lunch plan went on during those days:
Monday: shrimp breaded in egg.
Tuesday: adobong kangkong and fried bangus.
Wednesday: chicken tinola.
You’re on a healthy diet all right. There’s this weird thing that I heard just a few minutes ago on the radio. Cellphones can actually cook chicken eggs!!!!!!!! I dunno if it’s true….let’s wait for someone to experiment this and show it off to the world. Haha!
